008: White-lacquered counter（白漆カウンター）

草津の新しい旅館への、白漆のカウンター
旅館で使うお米の籾殻をテーブルトップに漆で蒔きつけ固め、白漆で仕上げエル字型カウンター。建築家にカタチや仕上げをプレゼンし、現場で塗りの仕上げを施しました。
Custom-ordered counter arranged with white lacquer, for a new Japanese inn in Kusatsu
Rice paddy husks used at the inn are soaked and hardened with lacquer on the table top, and finished with white lacquer. We presented the shape and finish to the architect, and applied the finish on site.
